…or thereabouts. The idea’s nothing new or particularly original. It’s just a challenge to keep those much needed creative juices flowing. The aim is to take around 365 photos throughout the coming year, posting them one by one right here.
Whether it’s full frame or iPhone, Pulitzer prize-winning or barely Facebook-worthy, the challenge is to post an average of one image per day. The plan is to build up a photographic story of the year ahead, documenting life, work, and random curiosities over twelve months. Jaw-dropping photos aren’t the goal, and there aren’t any rules… there’ll just be an eclectic mix of little moments that collectively define my year. There’s a lot on the cards this year already, and I’ve no doubt November will be a particular turning point (!), so along the way there should be some interesting adventures.
It just so happens that today [30.06.2013] is our first wedding anniversary.
This time last year we were saying our vows at ‘Kościół na Skałce’ [The Church on the Rock] in Krakow, Poland, so today seems as good a day as any to begin! The camera choice will vary – Nikon D800, D90, iPhone… GoPro… whatever’s closest to hand at the time.
This will be a bit of a mission, but having an opportunity to look back on the year, who we meet, where we go, is a pretty cool prospect.
Here’s to the 13 billion-pixel marathon ahead! -Alex
