The Fire and I, Cabaret Voltaire…

The other week I was asked to shoot a gig by the awesome Scottish two-piece band ‘The Fire and I’ [www.thefireandi.com] at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh.┬áIf you haven’t heard of them, check them out. They’ll blow your expectations out the window, pumping out an incredible noise using just one set of drums, a bass guitar and their vocals [with the occasional aid of a megaphone]. The photos below are a selection of those taken on the night. I’m pretty happy with them overall given the limited shooting angles and lighting at the venue. My favourite is probably the shot with Hooligan lit in the background, TFAI taped onto the drums, and Gordon’s legs and guitar cable providing the framing and leading lines into the image. Thoughts, criticisms, favourites? -Alex
